- Cultivates digital champions across all 45 districts in Sarawak;
- Strengthens digital literacy and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level;
- Targets 2,600 participants through Bengkel Kamek Digital within six months.
KUCHING, 25 FEBRUARY 2026 – Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC) today officially launched the Sarawak Digital Champion (SDC) Programme during the SDC Leadership Bootcamp held at the Imperial Hotel Kuching.
The programme was launched by YBhg. Dato Ir. Ts. Sudarnoto Osman, Chief Executive Officer of SDEC, alongside Encik Ali Suhaili, Chief Executive Officer of Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (AZAM), and witnessed by representatives from various agencies and programme participants.

Organised by SDEC in collaboration with AZAM, the SDC Programme is a strategic initiative under Sarawak’s digitalisation agenda aimed at cultivating local digital champions across all 45 districts. These champions will serve as community change-makers, driving digital adoption and strengthening entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.
The SDC programme aims to develop capable digital leaders, enhance digital literacy among entrepreneurs across Sarawak, and foster innovation by encouraging digitalisation, practical technology adoption, and ecosystem collaboration.
Shortlisted candidates are currently undergoing a four-day Leadership Bootcamp from 23 to 26 February 2026. The bootcamp comprises 12 structured modules focusing on essential digital skills and tools for daily business operations. In addition to technical competencies, participants receive soft skills training to effectively conduct and deliver Bengkel Kamek Digital workshops within their respective communities.
Upon completion of the bootcamp, each Digital Champion will return to their district to conduct six Bengkel Kamek Digital sessions over a six-month period. Through these workshops, they will act as change agents to promote digital entrepreneurship literacy and equip local entrepreneurs with practical skills to compete and grow in the digital economy.
Collectively, the SDC candidates are expected to train a total of 2,600 participants across Sarawak. This initiative not only enhances individual capabilities but also strengthens digitally enabled grassroots entrepreneur communities in every district, reinforcing Sarawak’s aspiration towards a resilient, inclusive, and innovation-driven digital economy.
Outstanding participants will be recognised with titles such as Sarawak Digital Champion, Digital Innovation Champion, and Community Digital Advocate during the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak 2026 (IDECS26), scheduled to take place in October 2026.
