KUCHING, 10 MARCH 2026 – In the spirit of compassion and unity during Ramadhan, Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC), together with the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) and the Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS), organised the Majlis Berbuka Puasa Bersama Yang Amat Berhormat Premier Sarawak at the Ranyai Ballroom, The Waterfront Hotel.

The event was graced by the Premier of Sarawak, The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg and other dignitaries.

As part of their corporate social responsibility initiative, SDEC, CENTEXS and DBOS presented RM10,000.00 contributions each to Kompleks Kebajikan Laila Taib (PERYATIM) and Rumah Kanak-Kanak Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah, supporting the welfare and operational needs of the homes.

A total of 40 children, 20 from each home, were treated to a special iftar banquet, reflecting the values of generosity, inclusivity and togetherness that define the holy month.

Over 500 guests attended, strengthening bonds among government leaders, board members, corporate stakeholders, strategic partners and staff. The evening concluded with congregational prayers, including Maghrib, Isyak and Tarawih.

The gathering saw the presence of senior leaders, including Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani, Chairman of SDEC; Dato Ir. Ts. Sudarnoto Osman, Chief Executive Officer of SDEC; Dato Haji Syeed Mohd Hussien bin Wan Abd Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of CENTEXS; and Datu Laura Lee Ngien Hion, Chief Executive Officer of DBOS. Also in attendance were Board members, Department Heads and staff of SDEC, CENTEXS and DBOS, as well as representatives from Sarawak Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

This initiative demonstrates SDEC, CENTEXS and DBOS’s commitment to inclusive development and community upliftment, ensuring that progress is accompanied by compassion and social responsibility.
