- New facility houses Network Operation Centre (NOC), Technical Operation Centre (TOC), expanded IR4.0 Prototyping Lab, and storage facilities
- Premises designed to boost operational efficiency and elevate the way SDEC serves the community
KUCHING, 15 APRIL 2026 – Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC) yesterday launched its four new premises located at the Royal Bay Commercial Centre in Pending, Kuching.
The new facility comprises the SDEC Network Operation Centre (NOC), Technical Operation Centre (TOC), an expanded IR4.0 Prototyping Lab, and dedicated storage facilities.
Designed as an integrated operations hub, the new premises bring together critical functions within a unified ecosystem. By co-locating the NOC, TOC, and operational workspace, it will enable real-time monitoring, faster incident response, and more seamless coordination across teams.

This integration enhances overall service visibility, improves network reliability, and ensures more efficient delivery of connectivity—particularly for underserved and rural communities across Sarawak.
Another key highlight of the new facility is the expansion of the IR4.0 Prototyping Lab, which will evolve into two specialised centres, the Advanced Robotics Centre and the Cybersecurity OT (Operational Technology) Simulation Centre. This strategic expansion addresses two rapidly advancing domains—physical AI and embodied intelligence systems, as well as OT cybersecurity and the protection of critical infrastructure.

The Advanced Robotics Centre will focus on accelerating the adoption of robotics and Physical AI in real-world applications. It aims to cultivate local talent, strengthen capabilities in next-generation intelligent systems, and drive innovation from research through to deployment. The centre is also expected to enhance productivity, efficiency, and operational resilience across key industries.
Meanwhile, the Cybersecurity OT Simulation Centre is set to position Sarawak as a regional leader in OT cybersecurity. In parallel, it will strengthen cyber resilience by enhancing the ability of industries to withstand and recover from cyber threats. The centre will provide an OT sandbox for simulation and testing, alongside specialised training to build industry capabilities, supporting secure industrial infrastructure and the region’s digital economy transformation.

The expansion of the lab is currently underway, with progressive setup and development activities being carried out to operationalise both centres in phases.
As Sarawak continues to advance its digital economy agenda, the new SDEC premises at Royal Bay Commercial Centre stands as a key enabler in delivering resilient, secure, and high-quality digital infrastructure—supporting inclusive growth and long-term sustainability across the region.
The launch was officiated by SDEC Chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani, alongside members of the Board of Directors and senior management team.
