KUCHING, 8 MARCH 2025 – In the spirit of Ramadhan, Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) Berhad, in collaboration with the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS), and the Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS), hosted a special Majlis Berbuka Puasa to honour and celebrate underprivileged children from Lembaga Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Negeri Sarawak (PERYATIM).
Held at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre (HEEC), the event was graced by the Premier of Sarawak, The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari, alongside his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Hajjah Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang.
A key highlight of the evening was the presentation of a RM25,000 donation to PERYATIM Sarawak, reflecting the organisers’ unwavering commitment to uplifting the less fortunate and ensuring that no one is left behind during this blessed month. The orphans were treated to a sumptuous iftar banquet and moreh, symbolising warmth, generosity, and unity within the community.
Adding to the joy of the occasion, 30 children from PERYATIM were presented with “Duit Raya”, bringing smiles to their faces and embodying the true essence of giving during Ramadhan.
With over 400 guests in attendance, the gathering also served as a platform to strengthen bonds among stakeholders, corporate leadership, employees, and the wider community. The event concluded with congregational evening prayers, including Maghrib, Isyak, and Tarawih.
Distinguished guests included representatives from various government departments and agencies, Board of Directors for SDEC, CENTEXS, and DBOS, strategic partners and employees.
