Sarawak positions women at the centre of digital transformation, redefining inclusion as a driver of innovation, growth, and equity across Asia.
KUCHING, 22 OCTOBER 2025 – The Sarawak Government today unveiled the SHE-TECH Asia Forum 2025, held under the 8th International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS25), championing women’s leadership, skills, and participation in shaping Asia’s digital future.
Officiated by YB Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah, Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak, the forum marks Sarawak’s continued commitment to people-centred digital transformation, one that is inclusive, equitable, and purpose-driven.
“Technology does not transform societies, people do. To shape an equitable digital future, women must not only participate but lead. Sarawak believes inclusion is not a moral gesture; it is a strategic advantage. When women are at the centre of innovation, progress becomes sustainable, and prosperity becomes shared,” said YB Dato Sri Fatimah.

Now in its third year, SHE-TECH Asia Forum has evolved from a conversation into a movement, connecting women innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, and policymakers who are driving transformation across every sector.
This year’s forum focuses on practical empowerment — helping women build the skills, confidence, and networks needed to thrive in technology and leadership. Sessions such as “Elevate Your Leadership with Purpose” by Datuk Zunaidah Idris and “Data-Powered Impact Storytelling” by Farah Fauzi emphasise how emotional intelligence and digital fluency can work hand in hand to drive innovation, strategy, and meaningful change.
The forum also underscored Sarawak’s broader agenda for inclusive growth through key initiatives such as the Sarawak Women Leadership Chair, a RM5 million programme that embeds women’s perspectives into policymaking, research, and leadership development.
Over the two-day forum, SHE-TECH Asia Forum 2025 will feature distinguished speakers, including Datuk Zunaidah Idris, Prof. Dr Ida Fatimawati Adi Badiozaman, Yuki Aizawa, and Dr Ayesha Khanna, alongside Puan Malseni Jamal, Founder of SHE-TECH Asia Forum and Acting CEO of Sarawak Water. Together, they represent the region’s leading voices on women’s leadership, innovation, and digital inclusion, proving that the future of technology must be not only digital but also diverse, empathetic, and inclusive by design.

Looking ahead, SHE-TECH will be established as a flagship initiative under the Ministry to support ongoing mentorship, collaboration, and innovation among women leaders in technology. Beginning in 2026, the forum will be held annually in conjunction with International Women’s Day, strengthening its role as a regional platform for advocacy, leadership, and action.
With SHE-TECH Asia Forum now an integral part of IDECS25, Sarawak strengthens its role as a regional leader in shaping inclusive digital growth. The State’s vision is clear: a future where women are not only participants in the digital economy, but architects of it. As technology continues to shape industries and societies, Sarawak stands ready to prove that equity and innovation can, and must, advance together.
